Ingredients
  

Salad Layers

  • 3 cups chopped lettuce iceberg or romaine
  • 2 cups sliced cucumber
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup hard-boiled eggs sliced or chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes for garnish

Dressing

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Prepare all vegetables by washing, drying, and chopping as needed.
  • In a glass bowl, layer the salad ingredients in this order: tomatoes, cucumbers, green bell peppers, lettuce, eggs, cheese, and cherry tomatoes on top.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to make the dressing.
  • Spread the dressing evenly over the top layer of the salad, sealing to the edges to keep freshness.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Garnish with extra cheese, green onions, or crumbled bacon before serving if desired.

Notes

Customize layers with cooked bacon, peas, or avocado. Serve chilled for the best flavor and presentation.
