Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until the dough comes together.
  • Divide the dough into three equal portions. Dye each portion with food coloring to match the colors of candy corn (yellow, orange, and white).
  • Roll each portion into a log and layer them together in the shape of a candy corn. Slice into 1-inch pieces and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Feel free to use different food coloring for a custom Halloween color scheme!
