Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers are set. The cookies will continue to cook as they cool on the baking sheet.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. They also freeze well for longer storage.
