Ingredients
  

Soup Base

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 cup carrots sliced
  • 1 cup celery chopped

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft.
  • Stir in flour and cook for one minute to form a light roux.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken broth, then add milk or cream.
  • Add carrots, celery, noodles, and chicken. Simmer until noodles are tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper and serve hot.

Notes

You can substitute cream with milk for a lighter version or add herbs like thyme for extra flavor.
