Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups of fresh figs or dried figs if fresh aren’t available
  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vegetable oil and vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Slowly combine the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, then stir in the chopped figs.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can use dried figs instead of fresh if they're not available. Adjust the sweetness to your taste by adding more or less sugar.
